Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of this website and any banner you order from Story Designs ("Story Designs," "we," "me," or "our"). By placing an order, you agree to them. I've kept them short and human.

Custom, handmade work

Every banner is hand-painted to order on kraft paper. That means:

• No two are identical. Yours will have small, natural variations in brushwork, color, and texture — that's the charm of handmade, not a defect.
• Colors may look slightly different on your screen than they do in person.
• I paint from the wording and details you provide, so please double-check spelling, names, and dates before you approve.

Ordering & approval

• Send me your details through the order form. I'll reply within about a day to confirm.
• I send a digital mockup for your approval before any paint touches paper. One round of minor edits is included; larger changes may affect the price or timing.
• Once you approve the mockup, I paint it as approved. I'm not responsible for errors — such as a misspelled name — that were in the wording you approved.

Pricing & payment

• Prices are listed on the site ($35–$75 depending on size; custom sizes quoted on request). Rush orders are +$15 when my schedule allows.
• Payment is by Venmo. A 25% deposit reserves your date; the balance is due at pickup or before shipping.
• Your order isn't confirmed until I've received the deposit.

Timing

Please order at least 2 weeks before your event. I'll always do my best to hit your date, but timelines depend on my current queue and are confirmed when you book.

Shipping & pickup

• Local pickup in Utah County is free. Shipping within the US is a flat $8 and typically goes out about 8 days before your event unless we arrange otherwise.
• Once a banner is handed to the carrier, delivery timing is up to them. I'll share tracking, but I can't control carrier delays.

Cancellations, refunds & damage

• Because each banner is custom-made for you, deposits are non-refundable once I've started your mockup or painting.
• If your banner arrives damaged in transit, email me a photo within 3 days of delivery and I'll work with you to make it right — a repaint or replacement.
• I'm not able to accept returns or exchanges on custom banners.

Content & intellectual property

• You're responsible for making sure the wording, names, logos, or artwork you ask me to paint are yours to use. By ordering, you confirm you have the right to use them.
• I may photograph finished banners and share them on this website or my social media as examples of my work. If you'd prefer I not post yours, just let me know.
• I reserve the right to decline any request — for example, content that's hateful, infringing, or that I'm simply not comfortable painting.

No guarantees / liability

I put real care into every banner, but this website and my work are provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, Story Designs is not liable for indirect or incidental damages, and my total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. The terms in effect when you place your order apply to that order.
